ICT@Koorana Blogging at Koorana
Many classes at Koorana now have their own blog. Within that blog each student
has their own blog page where they can write articles. Students are able to
comment on other student’s and teacher’s blogs. All articles are sent to the
class teacher for approval. Teacher’s are also able to comment on an article and
ask the student to make changes before publication or teacher can make quick
edits before publishing.
The SLICT co-ordinator has assisted the teachers in the setting up and ongoing
PD of teachers, using classblogmeister.com
This is a safe site that is set up solely for educational use and is an
effective blogging site that suits our needs.
Teachers are find blogs are an excellent way of integrating ICT into their
literacy programmes especially. But are also excited by the opportunities they
give the students to safely communicate with other students and classes from
around the globe as well as relatives and friends, who can visit their blog and
leave comments. Also, students are learning to use applications such as bubble
share and flickr safely to add photos and other elements to their blogs.
How to find our Blogs
We are using www.classblogmeister.com
to host our blogs.
Have a look at our blogs by clicking on the links below! Our students and
teachers love receiving comments! When you leave a comment, don’t forget to say
who you are like this;
Bart S 3.2
We don’t use our surnames to make sure we stay safe when using the internet.
Also use appropriate language. All teachers have to approve the comments before
they are published on the blog, so they won’t appear straight away.
